About

Jonathan Deamer is a music and new media type person who grew up in Surrey (England), but now lives and works in Liverpool after having gone to college there. He last updated this page in October 2008, which is probably ages ago by now.  He works for a group of companies that does loads of interesting stuff with music publishing, digital marketing for the record industry, a music festival and plenty of Web 2.0 buzzword fun.  He also sometimes writes on a freelance basis ‘cos he’s dead eloquent an’ stuff.

As you’ve probably gathered from this blog, he’s a huge music fan, with his favourite artists including Smashing Pumpkins, Manic Street Preachers (please, early stuff only), The Cure and The Smiths, among a host of other eclectica that isn’t a sensitive white-boy indie cliché (like an an occasional bit of hip-hop. Honest.)  Find out more at his Last.fm profile.

He used to write a blog solely about music (since 2004), but that got boring. He’s far too opinionated to restrict himself to one subject, and so set up this site in May 2007 as a way to inflict his myriad viewpoints on the internet-browsing public.  To further this aim even more, he runs a Tumblr tumblelog (with a lot more tech and business stuff than this blog) and tweets with an obsessive-compulsive frequency.

Other things he likes apart from music include stand up comedy and intelligent sitcoms, politics, technology, the novels of Chuck Palahniuk, being a news junkie, receiving e-mails from people who’ve read his scribblings, and writing about himself in the third person.
