About

Jonathan Deamer is a freelance music journalist, amateur writer and wannabe cultural commentator. Basically, he listens to too much music, reads too many books, has too many opinions, and likes to justify these things to himself with the use of pretentious titles. He’s just a student really.

He grew up in Surrey (England), and currently splits his time between there and Liverpool, where he is studying Music and Arts Management. As you’ve probably gathered from this blog, he’s a huge music fan, with his favourite artists including Smashing Pumpkins, Manic Street Preachers (please, early stuff only), The Cure and Public Enemy (despite their last album being a bit average), among a host of other eclectica.

He used to write a blog solely about music, but that got boring. He’s far too opinionated to restrict himself to one subject, and so set up this site in May 2007 as a way to inflict his myriad viewpoints on the internet-browsing public.

Other things he likes apart from music include stand up comedy and intelligent sitcoms, politics, the novels of Chuck Palahniuk, receiving e-mails from people who’ve read his scribblings, and writing about himself in the third person.
